Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Last night the hubby and I went to the Oquirrh Temple Open House with my family. We all met together before to have a picnic dinner. After dinner, we drove over to the temple. Now, this temple open house was completely different from that of the Draper Temple.

At the Draper Temple, we got to the church, watched the little movie, were driven up to the temple, walked right in, and spent only 20 minutes walking through. BUT at the Oquirrh Temple, we got to the temple, stood in line for almost an hour, finally got to the front doors and then spent another hour walking through.

We spent the whole time in line trying to decide whether or not we wanted to leave and get pie or stay and go through the temple. We could always go through the temple when it opens and there are significantly less people there. Obviously, by the time we got to the doors we hadn't decided and ended up staying. The pregnant lady missed out on pie. I was a little disappointed. I lived though.

The temple was beautiful. I hope ya'll got to go. If you have one of the last few tickets in the next couple of days REMEMBER: Go Early! It is of the utmost importance. Also remember to take snacks. Especially if you have kids or are pregnant. I thought I was going to die. I was starving.

Anyway, Have fun.

Safety?

I caught this scene on I-15 last weekend. I couldn't help but laugh at the lady. Everyone has their oppinions about safety. I truely feel that when riding a motorcycle the riders should be in leather and wearing helmets.

I just hope that this lady, and those like her, never have an accident where her body is found next to her unworn helmet. I hope that all of you are practicing safe driving on your motorcycles and peddle bikes. Protect Yourself.

It's Amazing What You Learn Late at Night.

So, along with being pregnant, I got sick on Sunday night. (I think it was the flu. Nasty little bug) Anyway, this means that I was waking up every night multiple times per night. I always knew that my neighbors were night owls and I figured they were out partying all the time, but I just don't understand the fascination. When you come home EVERY night to throw up in the parking lot after your party life, what could be fun about that?

I just don't get it. And, when I'm already sick, I don't want to have to keep it down myself because you are so loud outside.

This isn't really that interesting. Sorry, I just thought that I would let ya'll know what I was experiencing every night this week at 3:30 am. And I really hope that they don't ruin their teeth with all that acid. Yuck.

I May Be Young, But Don't Discount Me.

My Sunday was not as great as I would have liked it to be. It was a beautiful morning. I slept til I couldn't anymore. I ate breakfast. I felt good. I went to church. Maybe I should just not talk to anyone at church anymore.

Just because you are 45, have grown kids, and have lived longer than me doesn't mean that I don't know anything and just don't understand.

Don't tell me I don't know how things around the church work.

I have experiences with the church. Yes, they were different than yours, but don't tell me that I just don't understand and can't until I'm older and experience more.

And don't tell me I don't know anything about kids.

I may not have kids yet, but I'm the oldest of four BOYs. I've babysat for all kinds of kids since I was 10. I've overseen a youth program for kids 3-12 for three years. I taught Junior High and preschool. I help out with nieces, nephews, and friends kids all the time. I may not have my own and when I do I might not do it perfectly, but don't tell me I just don't understand how kids are. I've experienced plenty more than most people my age.

Our Workforce Services

I was at the Department of Workforce Services this week and I was reading one of the signs posted over the fax machines. It was just a sign that told you which phone number to use if you were applying for un-employment.

After the first time they write "un-employment" it was abbreviated by "UI".
Notice something fishy?

I wish that I had taken a pic with my phone. I just thought it was interesting to understand the importance of spelling at our Workforce Service Center.

that's all.

I'm Addicted

Bones is AWESOME!!

I watched the whole first season in two days.
I have requested the second season at the library.
I just might not be able to wait until next week to get the season.

What will I do?

Sunday Sermon

This Sunday in Tigard, Oregon I heard the best "keeping the sabbath day holy" talks that I have ever heard. It was beautifully refreshing to know that there are people out there that actually teach the actual gospel and not just faith promoting rumors about what should or shouldn't be done on Sunday.

Oh, it was wonderful.
