I had my first appointment with the Doctor this week. This means we did an ultra sound to find out exactly how far along the baby is measuring. I am measuring 13 weeks. One week less than I thought that I was going to be. (my doc informed me that sperm can hang out for a week. they were just chillin')
Anyway, while the goop was being smeared across my belly with the cold little wand thing, my little babe decided to do some flips. My Sweet wonderful doctor asks,
"Do you want to know what you are having?"
Me: "YES."
Doc: "We usually can't tell by now, but I'm pretty sure this is a boy."
Me: "Are you sure?"
Doc: "We will make sure at your big ultra sound. . . (baby flips over again). . OH. . . HAHHAHAHA. Yup definitely a BOY!"
Apparently my little Green Bean wanted to make himself known. We caught a picture and I got to come home and tell my Hubby he was getting a boy. It was a shock. We both thought we were going to have another girl. But we are excited.

Washing Wonders
Today I was thinking that I could get some laundry rotated while my little Sweet Pea was eating her lunch. I had no idea that washing the clothes was a team event. She was so angry with me. Whooping and Hollering at me. I had to stop. Clean her up. And have her help me.

Who knew that Washing the clothes was so important to a toddler?

Spring Stroller Hunt
Oh the beautiful glimpse of Spring. It didn't smell like Spring, but it sure did feel like it. The warmer weather, the ability to go outside and walk, just wearing a sweatshirt. It was glorious. But alas it couldn't last.
We got a couple inches of snow last night. The wind howled and screamed. And today there is no walking for us. My stroller is unable to maneuver in the slushiness. I have GOT to get me a new stroller. Being couped up inside is not acceptable anymore.
What kind of stroller do you use? why do you love/hate it?

You Know You're A Mother When. . .
- you vacuum the floor and 5 second later it needs it again
- your idea of clean/folded clothes is the pile you pulled out of the dryer and put on your bed
- you love snuggles from a miniature you
- you say "stop" or "don't do that" or "No" 100 million times a day
- your little one is hurt and they come crying to you
- you can't remember the last time you had a grown up conversation (besides the Hubby)
- you will drink out of the same water bottle as a child
- you don't mind slobbery kisses anymore

Birthday Wand
I have been so excited to post this. My Hubby and I didn't get professional baby pictures for our Sweet Pea as we had planned, so when her birthday came around this year we wanted to get some. I was told to bring a few props with us to the shoot. So, I dreamed up a wand to go with one of my Sweet Peas dresses.
It took me a while at Joann's to find everything needed to create my wand, but I did it. Here it is:

Sweet Pea loved it. She loved it so much, that she started to eat off the hot glue on the bottom and get sparkly stuff all in her mouth. I guess we will have to save the wand until she is older and understands that we only eat food.

Birth Control Lectures
We are having another little one. No it wasn't planned and I have affectionately been calling it our Oops Baby #2. Apparently we can't have children when we plan to. Only on accident.
Can someone please explain to me why people feel the need to lecture me on the how to's of birth control. I know how it works and also know that it doesn't sometimes. Abstinence is NOT an option when you have a demanding little one, cluttered home you just can't get to, you can't remember the last time you got ready, and you want to ensure your Hubby that you really DO still love him. Really? I don't need the lectures. Why do people do this?

It's A New Year!
It's a new year, I know. Usually I'm already 3 weeks into my new exercise program, eating healthier, and clearing out all of my clutter. I was doing well with the clutter for a couple of weeks, but have since fallen off the wagon.
Can someone give me a lift back on?
It's a different world with a little one around the house. Time available to do things has completely been shifted. I feel like everything revolves around food.
Get up
Feed Sweet Pea
Pump (yes, still pumping= death)
Give Sweet Pea a snack
Feed Mama
Play
Lunch for Sweet Pea.

Will it ever go away? Monotony of Motherhood. Fantastic.

Doing It Over Again
If you were able to start all over from the beginning with your kids as babies, what would you do differently?
What do you wish you had known from the beginning?
How would you have handled things differently?

One of My Favorite Things At Christmas
I know this is very late, but I still wanted to share one of my family's favorite things at Christmas.
Our little Christmas Tree at our hotel.
If you look closely at these pictures you will notice that we don't have stockings. We don't do stockings. We do Santa Sacks. They can be so cute and they fit more presents inside. So your kids think they are getting a ton from Santa.

I can't wait. This year is the year I get to make my own Santa Sacks for my own family. Don't worry, I will let you see my progress when I do them.
