Birth Control Lectures

We are having another little one. No it wasn't planned and I have affectionately been calling it our Oops Baby #2. Apparently we can't have children when we plan to. Only on accident.

Can someone please explain to me why people feel the need to lecture me on the how to's of birth control. I know how it works and also know that it doesn't sometimes. Abstinence is NOT an option when you have a demanding little one, cluttered home you just can't get to, you can't remember the last time you got ready, and you want to ensure your Hubby that you really DO still love him. Really? I don't need the lectures. Why do people do this?

It's A New Year!

It's a new year, I know. Usually I'm already 3 weeks into my new exercise program, eating healthier, and clearing out all of my clutter. I was doing well with the clutter for a couple of weeks, but have since fallen off the wagon.

Can someone give me a lift back on?

It's a different world with a little one around the house. Time available to do things has completely been shifted. I feel like everything revolves around food.

Get up
Feed Sweet Pea
Pump (yes, still pumping= death)
Give Sweet Pea a snack
Feed Mama
Play
Lunch for Sweet Pea.
Lunch for Mama

Bottle for Sweet Pea

Dinner for Sweet Pea

Will it ever go away? Monotony of Motherhood. Fantastic.

Doing It Over Again

If you were able to start all over from the beginning with your kids as babies, what would you do differently?

What do you wish you had known from the beginning?

How would you have handled things differently?

One of My Favorite Things At Christmas

I know this is very late, but I still wanted to share one of my family's favorite things at Christmas.
Our little Christmas Tree at our hotel.

If you look closely at these pictures you will notice that we don't have stockings. We don't do stockings. We do Santa Sacks. They can be so cute and they fit more presents inside. So your kids think they are getting a ton from Santa.

I can't wait. This year is the year I get to make my own Santa Sacks for my own family. Don't worry, I will let you see my progress when I do them.

Goofy's Kitchen

I really enjoyed going to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast. It's located at the Disneyland Hotel. And it was so much fun. When you go, you get to meet Goofy. And take a picture.

And while you are eating, you get a lot of other characters to come visit. We saw Chip & Dale, the mouse from Cinderella, Baloo, Captain Hook, Mulan, Belle, and a few more. It was a lot of fun.

We met the Chef. He made my little Sweet Pea Mickey shaped pancakes special because of her milk allergy. So, wonderful. She LOVED breakfast. She ate a whole bunch!

There was a lot of food and it was all good. I would definitely recommend going to the Breakfast Buffet at Goofy's Kitchen.

Preview for Tomorrow

OH it has been forever! I have been feeling a little deprived of my special time with all you people. It is one of my only adult associations during the day. I'm starting to speak in baby tongues.

We went to Oceanside, CA for Christmas. We spent 2 blissfully WET days at Disneyland. One wonderfully sunny day at Sea World and the rest at the beautiful beach. I have lots of pictures I can't wait to share. Tomorrow.

Where is Your Little Piggy Going?

"This little piggy goes to Market,
This little piggy went to the Show.
This little piggy went to Vegas,
This little piggy we don't know.
AND this little piggy went wee wee wee wee all the way home."

What I heard from the drivers seat on our travels yesterday. My Hubby is so cute!

Two Questions:

#1: When did you start skipping one of your kids naps?

My little Sweet Pea hasn't been so sweet lately. She is a fighter. She does NOT want to go down for her naps at all. She screams and yells, kicks and flails, and sometimes is all ends in her throwing up all over the place. So frustrating. Do I skip the morning nap at 10 months? Or do I continue to fight with her? When did your kids start skipping naps?

#2: What do you do for your younger kids in the car on long trips?

We are taking the 11 hour jaunt to Californ-i-a this Christmas and I need a few ideas for keeping a 10 month old busy. Now that she isn't so much of a sleeper I don't know what to do with her. Help.

Friday Confessional

I do exhaustingly comfess:

  • I love Christmas
  • which means that I am filling my 10 month old full of carols and Christmas movies.
  • yeah, I know. She shouldn't be watching so much television and neither should I
  • BUT I just can't help it at Christmas.
  • I don't want to miss one of my favorite shows. (The American Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, Prancer, Once Magic Christmas, The Muppet Christmas Carol, etc.)
  • there are just so many.
  • my house is still not unpacked from our move 4 weeks ago. (I blame the carpets and the walls)
  • I have done NO Christmas shopping.
  • I'm not one that has all the Christmas shopping done by June,
  • BUT I usually have it don't by this week.
  • UH-OH!
  • Good thing we are leaving for vacation in a week.
  • Crap!
  • My tree is up.
  • I get points for that, Right?
  • I'm not enjoying my Christmas as much as I would like to be
  • We haven't done any of the things we normally do at Christmas time
  • Bake, visit Temple Square, see The Forgotten Carols, walk around the neighborhood to see all the lights. (you put yours up right?)
  • The year has gone by so quickly and the Christmas season is no exception.

How has your Christmas been so far?
